This latest research helps to highlight the difficulty of building the coal rims of voters for Labour. The big question has always how far you reflect the electorate or how far you help lead. As Party loyalty has broken down the gaps the report highlights have been deeply damaging to the Labour Party. Whilst this concentrates on MPs values it could easily be played across to the members. During the Corbyn era in particular the views of the membership were a long way off those of potential voters. And we saw the consequences in December 2019.
