Fascinating watching the political battle over the future of AZ. Of course I watched the takeover mentality during the 15 years of Fisons in Loughbrough becoming different entities and growing from a few hundred staff up to 1200 faith investment of about £500m. But global capitalism was able to close the site, lose 1000 local jobs and cut adrift from that investment with the flick of a switch. Reassurances will be meaningless. Companies of this global scale make decisions that effect the lives of thousands with only their profit and shareholders counting. Nothing will change that. Welcome to capitalism
