The Sports Betting Group, operated by the Sport and Recreation Alliance, exists to advise and support the national governing bodies of sport in relation to betting integrity. It, and the Alliance, is represented today at a major international conference in Paris on betting integrity – ICSS Sport Integrity Forum 2014.
Andy Reed, chair of the Sport and Recreation Alliance said:
“This is another worrying revelation about the integrity of sport in the UK.
"There’s absolutely nothing to suggest that the war against match-fixing has been won or that we can afford to be complacent about what we’ve already done to fight it.
"We’re making progress in the UK but we everyone needs to up their game if we’re going to fight off what feels like a growing threat.
"We need better coordination and continued action from regulators, betting operators, governments and law enforcement agencies at national and international level.”
